A pilot lost his life this afternoon when his Cessna aircraft crashed into a wooded area just North of FM1431 near I35. The pilot was the only one on-board when the plane crashed and caught fire. The Williamson County Sheriff Department sent a tweet out at 1:33pm.
At 2:30 pm the Sheriff’s Department sent a second tweet at advising that the pilot was deceased.
The weather did not seem to play a factor in the accident. It was clear and sunny at the time of the crash.
A local pilot who stopped by the location of the crash shared with me that he believed the pilot flew out of a Austin area airport.
